• Description

  She is not particularly tall for an Elf, and not particularly muscular, but everything else about her is exceptional. She is one of the most talented warriors the tribes has ever seen, she is fast, smart, and beautiful. She has flaming red hair that she has refused to cut her entire life, meaning that when double-braided it goes down to her knees. This hair that is considered her trademark by some is looked upon as taboo by most. It means she has been touched by the gods, and whether this means she is destined to destroy or build remains to be seen. She is strong and steadfast, and not particularly talkative. She listens and watches much more than she shares her opinion. She has few real friends, and her closest companion is the man who has been teaching her all her life.

• Biography

  Gwenyn is the 5th child and 3rd daughter of the slightly insignificant Chieftan of the Pinle. This insignificant chieftan died when she was very young, and her tribe was 'taken under the wing of' the Brees, one of the most powerful tribes in the land. What this really means is that the Brees bought her father's tribe and land for a price - and that price was Gwenyn and her siblings. Because the Brees now have complete control over the Pinle's land, ore and people they have to take full responsibility for the Chieftan's widow and her children. If they do not take proper care of them, the oldest of the children will be given control of the Pinle again. Gwenyn barely remembers her father or her time with the Pinle before they were under control of the Brees. But since she has been considered a foster-daughter of Matthia, the Chieftan of the Brees, she has only received the best. The best clothing, the best food, the best shelter, and even the best education. She has been taught the fine art of warfare by the Brees personal general. Despite all of this luxury, Gwenyn grew up rather lonely. She is several years younger than her sisters, so they became married when she was still young. And although she was more proficient at fighting and warfare than her brothers (or perhaps because of that) they never wanted to associate with her. She is now 18, a little on the old side to not be married which is why her foster-father Matthia is pushing her to choose a husband. Although most of the tribes are not particularly patriarchal, usually the wife is so busy with her duties of running the day-to-day operations of the tribes that there is no time for her to do what she wishes or to participate in the relations of her tribe with others. Gwenyn has been defying Matthia, insisting that she was born to be a warrior, not a wife. He is considering putting her to the test in charge of a small group of Brees warriors, but making such a decision about the child of a dead Chieftan with red hair might be considered by others as folly. However, he is in need of a commander of such a squad as unofficial conflict has broken out between Brees and a coalition of several other tribes.
